Polyether modified polydimethylsiloxane. Silicone surface control agent, silicone surfactant, wetting agent.

Product Description

This product is a low-viscosity, low-surface-tension silicone polymer. It has good spreading, wetting, and penetrating properties and is a new and efficient silicone additive.

It imparts good spreadability and wettability on difficult substrates such as polyethylene, polypropylene, and polyester, highly smooth packaging materials. Suitable for inks, decorative and industrial coatings for plastics, metals, and wood. Acts as a wetting and leveling agent in water-based, UV-curable, conventional solvent-based, and high-solids coatings, with recoatability and gloss retention. It is widely used in water-based PU coatings.

Application Recommendations

  • Recommended dosage: 0.1-1.0% of total formulation.

  • Addition method: Can be added during grinding or stirring, or supplemented after production. For ease of addition, dilute with a suitable solvent first.

  • Solvent types: Water, alcohols, alkanes, aromatics can be diluted in any ratio.

  • Suitable coating systems: Solvent-based, solvent-free, water-based systems.

Precautions

May have foam stabilizing effect in water-based systems. Alternatively, HB-3281 with better defoaming performance can be used.

Contraindications

Use with caution when mixing with other additives. May become turbid below freezing point, but can be restored upon warming. For applications requiring precision, it is recommended to re-conduct suitability tests.

Packaging and Storage

  1. This product can be transported and stored as non-hazardous chemical.

  2. Packaging: 25kg plastic drum, 200kg plastic drum, or customized according to user requirements.

  3. Store in a cool, dry, sealed place.

  4. Shelf life: 12 months.
