Product Description
UV401 is a silicone surface additive for solvent-free, radiation-curable, solvent-based coating systems, adhesives, and printing inks, greatly reducing surface tension. Additionally, its high compatibility allows it to be used in the production of high-transparency clear coats without causing haze.
Product Features
Low surface tension, enhances slip and substrate wetting.
Compatible with acrylic resins, alkyd resins, amides, epoxy resins, nitrocellulose, phenolic resins, polyester resins, and vinyl systems.
Recommended Applications
Mainly used in solvent-based and solvent-free two-component polyurethane systems, UV-curable coatings, polyester/melamine baking coating systems, and a range of water-based systems.
Wood and furniture coatings, can coatings
Coil coatings and leather finishing agents
Recommended dosage: 0.05-1% additive (as supplied) based on total formulation.
Topcoat clear varnishes (improves tape adhesion release in topcoats)
Flexographic inks
Offset inks
Screen inks
Printing inks for high-speed presses
Recommended dosage: 0.05-2% additive (as supplied) based on total formulation.
*The above recommended dosages are for reference. Optimal dosage should be determined through a series of tests.
Process Instructions
The leveling agent can be pre-diluted or added directly to the coating as supplied.
The additive can be added at any stage of the production process, including post-addition.
Low temperatures may cause cloudiness or solidification, which can be eliminated by heating; product performance remains unaffected.
